Here are some hilights from the raku firing party thingy we had over Memorial Day weekend.
This is looking inside the raku kiln during the firing. Yay fire!
Red hot pots after the gas is turned off and the kiln lid lifted. Now they get picked up with tongs and put into cans of newspaper, to flame the molten glaze and change the colours and stuff.
Steve and Jim with the tongs and the flaming newspaper, while Kathy takes pics.
Especially awesome dragon jar.
These are Sunday's pots, tho I think a few were still in the cans and waiting to be cleaned off. I'll post more pics once I have them. The firings went really well, and we had a good time. Or at least I did. I am very thankful to my wonderful helpers and friends. I am very lucky.
If anyone is interested in ordering, I could take pics and measurements and put up the different pots.
