Seven Minutes in Heaven - a short play. I like it.
Seven Minutes in Heaven
By Nicholas Frushour
JEFF: A boy that has never kissed a girl
TRISHA: An attractive girl that really likes boys.
A bunch of younger girls and boys are gathered in the hallway of a house. One boy has a stopwatch. Jeff and Trisha are already in the closet.
Trisha: Do you wanna kiss me?
Jeff: Kiss you? Uh… I dunno.
Trisha: Well you can. If you want to.
J: I dunno... I mean… Yeah but….
T: What’s wrong? Don’t you want to?
J: I’ve never really kissed a girl before…
T: You’re kidding. I want out of here. (she tries to open the door but the kids hold it shut)
J: I’m sorry… Girls are kinda… ick.
T: You’re kinda ick.
J: Sorry. Hey, do you watch Ninja Turtles?
T: No.
J: I like Michaelangelo. He’s my favorite. (Long pause)
T: So are you gonna kiss me or not? Cuz this is dumb now.
J: I, uh… yeah…
T: Well?
(After a moment, Jeff slams his face in to hers and they close their eyes, keeping every muscle in their face tight. The boy yells ‘time’ and the door opens. Everyone laughs.)
I hope you like it too
