Richard Wright has a great story called "The Man Who Lived Underground" that takes a lot of cues from Dostoevsky. Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, as well. In fact, one might go as far as to say that Dostoevsky's concept of the Underground, as both a physical and psychological space, manifests itself in a lot of black power literature of the 40s through 6os.
And there's that great Thelonius Monk record called Underground.

i actually recently set a skate date with my buddy pablo for saturday the fourteenth in williamsburg before i do my show with kimya dawson that night. you should come skating in the afternoon and then stick around to see my puppet show.
Aww man.. Sounds great! I was in a druncken stuper when I read this, and thought how awesome it would be to skate with you, then I made a song about it. I'll sing it while we're skating.
