Deep thoughts.

I'm pretty much convinced that the reason so many people have an aversion to even TRYING polenta is because it rhymes with placenta.
Because we only like to put placenta in our hair, duh.

It's quite good! Another starch form. Can't ever have too many starch forms.

So many people are unwilling to even sniff anything that wasn't something they grew up eating or grew up at least knowing existed. EVEN WHEN IT'S SOMETHING THAT CAN IN NO WAY BE INTERPRETED AS WEIRD. Like if an American doesn't want to try cat, fine. I personally would, but many people are unable to separate the emotional side of cat-ownership from the act of eating a cat in Asia. Fine. But, as in the case of polenta, cornmeal? How is anything about cornmeal weird? Pioneers made corn pone constantly, which is basically polenta. Polenta has been consumed in Italy for thousands of years. ???

There are just so many super things to eat in the world that it irritates me to watch people constantly dismiss 90% of them.

But it's none of my business. And things not being my business has never stopped me from bitching about said things.
