Plasma or LCD and why?  We're looking at 32 - 37 inch range.

LCD. Less power consumption and no burn-in. I'm not sure a person can really buy a plasma smaller than 42", but I could be wrong.

Burn-in is still a problem with plasmas, despite what Best Buy will tell you. It still happens, especially if you plan to hook a computer up to it.

LCDs are surprisingly more affordable now than they were last year. Around/After the Super Bowl, last year's models go on sale.

Plasmas will give you a brighter, more colorful picture, but most people won't notice the difference after you leave Best Buy. When your TV isn't sitting next to a $3000 model, it will look a lot better.

I'd say go with the 37" Westinghouse LCD, unless you can't stand the look of plasma TVs.

Have you heard about the laser TV that is supposed to come out this fall? Its supposed to be half the weight, thinner and have much better color than plasma or LCD...and be half the price. They are only making them in 62" and larger, but they are supposed to drive down the price of all other TVs.

Buy American. Get a broken Magnavox tube television today and fix it up with some elbow grease and patriotism.
