Yes, yes, I know this makes me "unpatriotic" and probably a "terrorist" according to some people but...

It's a legitimate question, although the Christian angle doesn't hold much weight. The "Thou shalt not kill" commandment applied to cases of premeditated murder. Also in the law as laid down by Moses were very strict intructions to commit genocide based on ethnicity and religion. Take a spin through the book of Joshua sometime.

What might be a better and harder question, is why a secular government (as ours is supposed to be), is allowing religious themes to control our foreign policy, and where is that leading us? If we want to claim moral superiority to the people we are at war with, doesn't that mean that we have to take full responsibility for our actions without the ethical umbrella of a Diety?
