You shouldn't feel like shit for losing touch with old friends, because there's usually a reason that you lose touch with those people. If you're really supposed to be friends you shouldn't have to force yourself to spend time with them.
Also, don't feel like a schmuck. Because I can relate with how you're feeling about having to rely on your parents for money, and I think that's normal for people our age. If you're thirty, then you've got some problems.
The money thing, you're probably right, it just makes me feel so co-dependent. But, as far as losing touch goes, I can't really say I agree with the whole "it all happens for a reason" thing, mainly because I made the choice not to call, bluck...perhaps I should call haha
What I meant by "there's usually a reason that you lose touch with those people" is that you chose to not stay in contact with them. I didn't mean that it's supposed to happen, just that sometimes we no longer feel a need to have certain people in our lives like we used to. It's best to just move on with your life and not worry about losing what you once had with someone.
