for a school that doesn't have a specific leading question just write about something that has influenced you, or something particularly interesting. steer clear of the typical, although i know you will have no problem with that. it really isn't about what you write, but how you write it.
i had 2 different essays. 1 was about my summer in guatemala, a snapshot story of sitting on a "chicken bus"(guatemalan ghetto public transportaion) next to a live turkey. my other one was about my first day of kindergarten and how i learned the inside of a school bus was white and it how that silly little detail changed my life.
write about the one moment you can remember being happiest and why you were so happy, what sailing has taught you about life, how living on martha's vineyard has effected you. something that tells something about you as a person, and keeps the reader interested.

The other one was on the importance of socialized health care and how to make it a hot topic using media outlets.
I suggest you write about something not so political, as I did, unless they really mean something to you. Write about sailing!
