In February I was finally arrested for shoplifting after several years and several thousand dollars worth of liberated merchandise. I had to ask myself then why I was a shoplifter, and if I could morally justify my actions. I came to the conclusion that stealing is not so bad if done for the right reasons (after all, who finds fault with robinhood ( Read more... )

It's good that you know why you shoplifted. Have you thought about ways to give yourself a thrill and stave off boredom without resorting to shoplifting? For myself, I go walking and take pictures to push away boredom, which makes me ruminate on the past and things I can't change. (Makes me fairly bored and miserable, in the long run.) So, take time to learn about what makes you thrilled with life.

Thank you for sharing this and the other posts. :)

My cousin is in prison for three years I believe for shoplifting from Wal-Mart. She was doing it because it seemed like she had to. She's steal things, have people return them, and then buy groceries with the gift cards. Pretty much everyone who returned things for her was arrested. Myself included. It's kind of bullshit seeing how they tried suing a brain dead ex-employee too. My biggest thing: FUCK WAL-MART & Sam Walton.

I got arrested not too long ago with some other friends and it really shook them up and made them feel like dickheads and they vowed to never do it again but I know I still want to, I don't know why, I won't lie, but it just makes sense to. Sometimes it is just there, and I know how, and it's not even worth the amount of money. I didn't steal because I needed to, I stole because I wanted to.
