[Gai really enjoyed hanging out with Iruka, both at Kakashi's party and on their date. So, before class, he stopped by a flower store to buy some flowers. After much confusion, he left with a bouquet with tiger lilies and some other flowers he didn't recognize. Stepping to Iruka's classroom, he leaves the vase of flowers on his desk with the note

He was mid yawn when he spotted the bouquet sitting on his desk and he stopped in his tracks. He carefully looked around, dropped his bag near his desk and went back the the classroom door, closing it. He had learnt very quickly to be wary of the other students and teachers at this school - they were more likely to pull a prank than do something nice, he thought to himself while he scrutinized the flowers.
He sat back into his chair and picked up his coffee, something caught his eye. A piece of paper had been stuck to the bottom of his cup, had fluttered back onto the desk.
Picking it up, he read the note. A smile broke out onto his features. Today was going to be a good day.]

A bouquet can have all kinds of underlying meanings, to convey what you want to say. [Pause.] Not that you need much help.
[No man can top Gai when it comes to flowery language. Hurr.]
