Gai-sensei, you might be occupied and be very busy right now ...

[He sounds very hesitant because he has a lot on his mind, and he's worried out of his freaking head too. He sounds like it anyway.]

No one's around and I worry about the kids. Would you like to get together sometime? Maybe we can have Akira and Sakura come too. For dinner? I'll make something or potluck or something, I don't know.

[He sighs.]

There's no one here and after that happened ... well, I'd like to hear your ideas, Gai-sensei.

I haven't seen you around either. I hope you're okay ...

[The Hitomi clicks on to find Gai drenched in sunlight and standing in one of the fields; it looks like he's set his Hitomi on a bush or something, given that he's busily at work harvesting even as they talk. He's covered in a sheen of sweat and looks a bit tired, but still as cheerful as ever--he's obviously been pushing himself to work extra hard lately.]

Iruka-sensei! I'm sorry to worry you, but I have been rather busy--with so many people gone, the rest of us certainly have had to pick up the slack! [He laughs and wipes his forehead with the back of a hand; Gai is wearing a yukata today, and after all this time out in the sun, he's sporting an even deeper tan than usual.]

But I would certainly be happy to get together with you, and Sakura and Akira, as well! If you'd like, we can share the cooking responsibilities; you all can come to my house, and I'll take care of the clean up.

[He offers an encouraging smile; while Iruka is worried, Gai seems just as content and hopeful as ever, pitching in to try and hold their little

[Iruka smiles. So wide that it is rather Gai-esque in its brightness. They've all been working double time especially with winter approaching.

And Gai's positive energy is so refreshing that Iruka is very glad he contacted the man.]

I'm sure they'd love that. They could really use the distraction.

Surely, even Gai can use a break too.

The question dampens the smile a bit though.]

[Gai's smile mirrors Iruka, sparkling almost audibly in the sunlight; they're certainly livening up the day! He's glad to see Iruka able to be positive as well.] Then it should be no trouble at all to get in touch with everyone and arrange a date!

[His smile doesn't even falter at Iruka's question, or at the memories of Gojyo in his arms; it's as though he were never affected by the event's fall out at all. While his feelings haven't quite faded, exactly, he can recognize the different flavor they've acquired, aged and mellowed as they have been by the passage of time. Gai can feel now the distinction between the rich, warm love he currently feels, and how he was so heatedly, passionately in love with the man before. The thought adds a pleasant glow to his day; he wonders how Gojyo is doing. Maybe he should call him, just to see....]

Wonderful! I have been doing quite well, myself. And Akira, how is he? Are his lessons progressing as they should?

[Gai gasps, wide-eyed, and clutches his head as he reels in horror.]

[After a minute of highly dramatic flailing as he wails over losing his lead, Gai recovers his..... poise, if one can ever consider him to have such. He pumps a fist, grinning.]

I see! Well then, in that case, we obviously will remain tied until I return to Konoha as well! I will train even harder in your absence so we may engage once more in a contest suitable for Eternal Rivals--and I suggest that you do the same!

[Have a dramatic pointing finger thrust at the screen.]

I will be looking forward to it, Kakashi! But until then, perhaps I might buy you a drink for the trip home, and to celebrate your momentous accomplishment?

Certainly! And what might that be, Neji-kun?

Kanji needs some formal taijutsu instruction.. He has some capability, but he's untrained, and Jyuuken's forms aren't suited for him. I realize it's a lot to ask, but whenever you have time, perhaps.. He's on house arrest at the moment, so there's plenty of time to consider.

I see! You're right, of course, he certainly looks like he would stand to benefit more from a Strong Fist style, given his build and temperament..... What can you tell me about his previous fighting experience?

[Gai rubs his chin thoughtfully as he considers; even so, he doesn't really need to put much thought into it at all. Logistics aside, how could he possibly say no to his cute young student asking for a personal favor? And teaching is one of the things he does best! If Neji's friend is willing to learn and ready to work hard to do so, then he's positive they should have no trouble at all.]

Well, no matter! If Kanji-kun is under house arrest, then that means this is the perfect time to start! He'll have all the time in the world to devote to his training right now!

.....What exactly is he under house arrest for, by the way?
