They are supposed to be beavers, but yeah, the one on the right esp looks like a porcupine :)

We too, are planning a cob house in Oregon. Yes, a hot tub!
A wooden roof has been constructed to sit over the top of the tub.

From what Sigi (http://www.buildnaturally.com/)says, all cob are all stone on this climate isn't the best idea. Too difficult to keep warm. We are better suited to strawbale with a cob coating. A small part of the reason we are switching coasts.
