Every time I think about getting another tattoo, I think to myself, "Am I going to want that when I'm older?" Really? Older? I'm 39. How much older do I need to be? Am I going to care that I have a saggy faerie on my back when I'm 60? The 20 year old in me needs to sit down and shut up.

This totally made me giggle!

I figure my goal is to have a tattoo that I will either still like when I'm older or that will make my older self fondly and happily remember the person she was when she got it.

I agree! When I was 18, that was good advice for my parents to give me. Now, I know myself a heck of a lot better. More than that, I *am* myself a heck of a lot better. I say go for it!

I don't think 60 year old skin is all that saggy! ;)

That's a very good point, thank you for expressing it. I've wanted a tat since I was 16 and still haven't gotten one. Spoke to a lady a couple weeks ago who got her first one at 35. It was wonderful to hear. Perhaps this will be my year!

You are probably right. So, 70 year old skin then! 80?

If you decide to get one and want a hand to hold, or squeeze way too tightly, don't hesitate to ask :) I would be honored to be your companion for the experience.
