What's on my plate?

Let's see.

* One last med student interview tomorrow morning. I've done about a dozen since September. The good news is half of them accepted our admission and hopefully will be my students in 2010.

* Course pack due Friday the 5th. One more round of check tomorrow and send off.

* Campus movies on Friday night: Burn after reading, My best friend's girl. The last batch of the year as far as I can tell and I don't want to miss, no matter how terrible the reviews are.

* W's piano recital Saturday the 6th: I am always more nervous than he is. Something I'd never say to him (and probably should): he is doing great considering how little time he puts in his practice. He is definitely in the rare group who advances so fast in so young of age. This is not me saying as his mother. His piano teacher who has been doing this at least a decade long and has taught countless youngsters told me so. Anyway, I'll keep being nervous for him until it's over.

* Kids' Chinese school on Sunday the 7th followed by skating lesson test. W thinks he can pass this time. I don't know. Thought he had passed last time, but we lost the record.

* Parent Council meeting on Monday at my home school (W's, and I'm the PC rep this year)--will have to show up and look pretty. Hard job!

* Finish reading Returning to Earth by Wednesday 7:00pm when my book club will meet and discuss. A good book, slow start but now got me hooked. Darn, now it reminds me another thing--I need to bring some goodies to the meeting. How's pecan bars?! (so I guess extra cooking Tue night).

* The rest of the week, make up 2 exams (30 questions each) and 1 quiz (8 questions), practice questions (5 per chapter x 22 chapters), sample exam questions (30?). Finish course protocol, schedule, and compose a Welcome message to my next batch of 370 med students whom I'll be seeing daily since the first week of Jan. 09.

* Prepare for M's upcoming birthday party on the 20th. Sent invitations out yesterday. Just need to gather RSVP, order a cake, buy a present and goodie bags stuff. 20 kids have been invited. Hopefully some of their parents have better things to do.

* Christmas shopping, including the Christmas tree. This is the real headache. Don't remember since when, shopping is the last thing on my killing-spare-time list. I can't do it virtually. But a mall is now the last place I want to be on any day. Grrrrrrh.

* House cleaning. Last but second on the KST list. What I hate the most is no matter how clean you make the house look after several hours of dusting and scrubbing, it'll for sure be dirty almost immediately. What's the point? I need a Monica Geller. That's my New Year resolution. Or Christmas wish from Santa. Whatever to get her here. And stay.

Now here's a chance to see my true friends who would be willing to take some off my plate. I'm not holding my breath.
