if they do, I'd be more than happy to join you in your bagel raiding, and will volunteer to get messy, make mistakes, etc etc.
And I think that law is bull. It's trash. They've thrown it out. They don't want it. Fuck, if they want to stop dumpster raiders, they should just discount day-old bagels, or give them to some of the soup kitchens around town.
I'm surprised that they throw the bagels out at all. The Panera here in Williamsburg donates the leftover bread to charity... one day the charity was a bunch of hungry Colonials because someone in our department also works at Panera. A hungry college student is just as worthy of free bagels as a hungry Colonial, if not more.
That being said, my grandpa used to ride his bike around "shopping" on trash day and never had a problem as far as I know... and it was in his own neighbourhood, and he got stuff like bikes. So really, I don't see how taking some bagels is hurting anything.
