I remember being only just 12, and thinking to myself, "wow i've only been to one funeral" sans those fake ones we used to have in our backyard for all the dead animals we encountered. everytime i do something or buy something this fucked up thought always occurs: it will be forgotten, you will die, nothing matters. i'm really a happy person so this is unusual for me but i am conditioned to think this way because of loss. even though my dad and mom died 12 and 4 years ago, respectively, i still think this way. i sort of try to ignore it, tell it to shut up, but it will probably never go away.
