Muses: Jung Yunho jungyundol and Kim Junsu erydayimhufflin
Rating: G
Location: Thailand, Villa II -> the beach
Summary: A morning jog and casual conversation.

The weekend had come, marking the beginning of the end to their vacation. Yunho got up bright and early, wanting to make the most of this time, though Saturday was really no different from Friday for someone who had no schedule or commitments. But if Junsu could do it, so could he, and perhaps he would make this a more active morning than the last few had been. "Going for your run?" he asked, pulling himself up on the bed and reaching to rub at his eyes, morning gunk and sleepiness falling away.

It was hard for Junsu to break his routine, even while on vacation. Every morning, he was up at dawn, stretched out and ready to hit the beach for his morning run. The only difference now as apposed to the rest of the year was his afternoon snooze in the sun afterward. "Mmm...?" There was a pause in his stretching as he glanced over at Yunho, a sheepish smile crossing his lips, "Yeah. Sorry, didn't mean to wake you." But, since Yunho was already up, it would be rude not to give him a proper hello. Junsu took a seat next to him with a little bounce on the mattress, reaching to tousle his bedhead playfully.

Yunho chuckled softly, not making any efforts to evade the attack to his hair. It would be the mess it was, at least it wasn't so long as to make an embarrassing one. "It's okay. Can I join you today?" he asked, with the casual certainty of one who already knew the answer.

"Of course not, you'll cramp my style." This was Junsu lingo for 'yes,' of course, making no effort to hide his smile as he gave the other boy a scritch or two while he had his fingers in his hair. "Get ready, champ. You're burning daylight." A cheeky smile later and Su was up on his feet again, heading for the bedroom door. "I'll grab us some water. Meet me outside when you're ready, 'kay?"

"See you soon."

Yunho waved and reached out his arms for another stretch. There was no point worrying about a shower right now - he would just come back from the run covered in sweat. Changing out of his boxers into a pair of long shorts and a wifebeater, he rummaged through his bag to look for the mp3 player Fei had given him. Conversation he had, if Junsu was going to be his running partner. But if things went as he suspected they would... he would need something to keep him company during the race.

Yunho wasn't the only one who had thought to bring his MP3 player and it was probably a good thing. The music kept him energetic and it was hard to converse with someone else while running, inevitable race or no. Snatching a couple of bottles of water from the kitchen, Su trotted his way outside, perhaps more than a little impatient as he waited. "Yunho~" He chimed as he bounced around, perhaps looking a little ridiculous with a bottle of water being waved around in each hand.

Yunho shut the door behind him, so that Typhoon would not go running too far, and thought that Junsu resembled something like an excitable puppy when he saw him outside. "Coming!" he chimed, imitating him and coming forward to snatch one of the water bottles away. "Let's go."

And off he went in a flash as soon as Yunho took that bottle from him, slowing only so that Yunho could match pace with him. Once they were about even, Junsu picked up speed, this trek now second nature to him at this point even though it had only been his playground for a few days. He led the way downward toward the shore, skipping down a few stairs, hopping over some wayward debris, the shore the only thing in his sight for the time being.

Yunho followed him, Junsu easy enough to follow and the pace easy enough to keep up with. The morning air was refreshing, light breeze carrying away the rest of his sleepiness. Falling into step beside him once they reached the shoreline, he looked out at the ocean. Glistening blue, like it had been the day before when he and Jaejoong went for their walk. Diving in for a nice swim was tempting. Perhaps after the run.

Junsu kept a steady pace for now, thinking of it as a warm-up and a chance to take in their surroundings. It was so different from Seoul. It was easier to move here, to think, even to breathe. It was refreshing in a way that he couldn't vocalize. Taking one last deep inhale, Junsu allowed an impish smile to cross his face as he picked up his pace just a fraction, wanting to see if Yunho was match him.

Yunho sped up just a bit to keep pace. "You do this every morning?" he asked. It was a wonderful place to do it in, but that Junsu had gotten up the first morning suggested he made a regular habit of this kind of exercise. The winters in Korea must have made that difficult, though a bit of a warming charm would at least ward off the cold for a little bit.

"Just about~" he answered easily enough, leading them further downward gradually until they were just short of hitting the sand on the beach. Running in sand or even through a bit of snow back at the castle during the winter was its own challenge and kept things interesting. "Besides, it's so nice here. It's a shame not to take advantage of it."

"Mm..." That much was true. It seemed a shame to waste a day indoors, when all this was waiting for them outside. The water was still blue and sparkling. Yunho's eyes were drawn to it, recalling his last couple of days out in it. That reminded him. "I went for a walk with Jaejoong the other day. We're going to host a cocktail party."

"Cocktail party?" There was a note of surprise and amusement in his voice, a smile creeping its way onto his face. "I didn't know you drank." Not that he had an opinion about it one way or another.

Yunho laughed and shook his head. "I don't like it very much. But it might be fun. A good chance to socialize. What about you?"

"Nah, not really my thing. I'm enough of a spaz without it. But it could be fun if the whole group is involved." Junsu mused to himself, trying to remember the last time he actually had a drink and why.

"We'll ask around and find out. Besides, Villa I hosted the first party. We should return the favor, right?"

"Of course~" The Huff chimed, opening his water bottle to take a sip...right before splashing some at Ynuho and taking off like a bat out of hell. No one could ever claim that Junsu was a slowpoke.

Yunho had long legs on him. He laughed, not expecting that this would be the start to their "race," but finding the added element of "revenge" made it that much more enjoyable. He gave chase.

The advantage that Su had was that he had run on that beach every morning for the last few days. He led them out into the sand then, hopping over bits of driftwood or debris that he would come across, never looking back even once.

Yunho stumbled, naturally, but that was not going to keep him from running. Tag was always a fun game, more fun when it came with a challenge.

And if Yunho wanted a challenge, he was going to get one. They weren't the only early birds out on the beach and he took advantage of that, weaving in and out of people here and there so Yunho would have to do the same.

Yunho kept a close eye on him. He was deliberately leading him into a maze of people. But eyes sharp, Yunho was looking for detours. New obstacles to be found, but also new shortcuts.

Dodging around a few more pedestrians, Su took off free of obstacles once more. Gradually, he made his way closer and closer to the edge of the water, giving them some new turf to run on.

Yunho chased after him, laughing as he avoided stepping on a puppy and found his feet suddenly pressing into wet sand. MP3 player in his pocket, though, he was careful to stay close to the shore.

"Getting sloppy!" Su couldn't help but yell over his shoulder, hearing the sudden commotion behind him. Of course, he was laughing at him, too, but didn't take the time to let Yunho see. Wet sand and water were being kicked up behind him, dodging bits of seaweed and children here and there.

"Catching up!" came Yunho's retort. And now that they were not running along the beach blankets, he was finding it easier to move along.

Junsu took his word for it as glancing over his shoulder to see for himself seemed counter productive. Not too far ahead he noticed a lifeguard tower, "Last one to the tower buys breakfast!" And with that, he took off with a new burst of energy, intent on his goal.

Yunho picked up pace, run turning into a sprint. Now that he had a clear target in sight, he knew how much energy he could expend. It made it easier to push himself.

Seconds seemed to drag out into minutes as he ran, but he made it to the tower just before the other boy, panting softly once he finally came to a stop, flashing a toothy smile at Yunho.

Yunho's hand reached out for the tower, but too late. He was grinning, anyway, through panting breaths, as he leaned over to catch his breath. "So. Breakfast?" he asked, looking around. Where could they even go?

Panting a bit himself, he reached to curl an arm around Yunho's waist, starting to tug him along. "Let's get some fruit," he offered, apparently having some idea where to go already.

Yunho slung an arm over his shoulder, reaching up to ruffle Junsu's hair as they began walking. Fruit, now that sounded like a good breakfast. And it wouldn't leave him feeling too tired for further exercise.

Laughing as his hair was ruffled, Su led them to a little booth near the edge of the beach where they sold cups and bowls of prepared fruit. Once they made it there, Su ordered a bowl for them to share, bumping himself against Yunho casually as they waited.

Yunho rifled through his pockets for money. He had a mix of wizarding money on top of amounts of the local currency, exchanged their second day. "Know what you want?"

"Yup," he chimes as a bowl was being prepared for them with bits of banana, mango, oranges, pineapple and grapes, the sight of it almost making him flutter about happily.

"Lead the way," Yunho said, after they bowl ahd been prepared and he had paid for it. His eyes were also on the fruit, the exercise having made him somewhat hungry.

A quick nod and off they went again, pulling Yunho toward some steps near the edge of the beach, pulling the other to sit down with him. "Been up to anything interesting since we got here?"

Yunho laughed a little, plopping down on the ground beside him. Apparently Junsu hadn't had a chance to see the monitor Yunho had taken apart in their room. "Just... tinkering with a few things here and there."

In fact, Su hadn't noticed it just yet, but he was often out in his own little world even when surrounded by his friends and peers. 'Having fun, then?" he grinned, reaching for one of the picks they were given to spear a piece of pineapple to munch on.

Yunho followed suit, nodding. "Always. We're on vacation, after all." He looked out to the water, momentarily distracted by the children splashing about. "And you?"

"Mostly been keeping to myself, trying to relax. School's been stressful, so a little 'me' time didn't sound too bad." There was a shrug before he went in for another bite of fruit, munching away slowly. "No idea what I'm going to do once we leave, though."

"You and Junho don't have plans?" Yunho asked, a little surprised. As their break time was so short, usually other students filled their schedules during the holiday.

"We never really do. Stuff just kind of...happens with us. There's things we say we'll do if we get to it, but not a lot is set in stone. We'll both wake up one morning and go 'Oh, hey, hiking!' and that's the end of it" While he and Junho weren't identical twins, they still seemed to have a knack for reading the other's mind or mood. "It can get a little creepy sometimes, actually."

Yunho listened quietly, amused smile on his ilps. "It sounds nice, though. To be able to read somebody else so easily." He was still waiting on Yunhak. They had made a plan. Set in stone, yet with no set date. He was used to this, though, being at beck and call of family. Still, it might be nice to try something different. Then again, maybe this trip to Thailand was just that.

"It can be nice, sometimes, especially when we're trying to get on each others nerves. We can tell when the other will snap with just enough time to get away." The grin on his face just then was rather shameless, suggesting that it might be a common activity between the twins. "How are things between you and your brother these days?" It was never a subject that he pressed on much with Yunho, but sometimes he couldn't help himself.

Yunho thought of Junho chasing Junsu, face red with some kind of momentary resentment. It was not difficult to imagine, as he had witnessed this a few times on campus already. The mention of his broughter pulled him back from these thoughts. "His- Yunhak?" he asked, remembering that he was trying to avoid the Crown Prince's official title in an effort to achieve those changes they had talked about. It seemed to matter, even if he wasn't around. "Different..."

Junsu waited patiently for his answer, eyes now fixed on the ocean out in front of them, his lips pursed as he thought. Really, he couldn't imagine having such a distant relationship with one's sibling, but he also acknowledge that he seemed to have an abnormally normal, almost perfect, homelife when compared to some of his wizarding peers. He hadn't realized just how lucky he was to have the parents he did growing up while he had the social stigma of 'squib' stamped on his forehead. He had heard of others in his situation being sent to life with distant relatives or shipped off to far away boarding schools where their pureblood family members could properly ignore their existence. "Good different?"

A laugh in response to that, as Yunho bit into another slice of fresh fruit. But he supposed their relationship could be worse. He had, in fact, always imagined it was rather normal. These were the roles, the roles they were placed in and he had never really questioned. "Yeah, I guess so. I don't know. Something about him is different. I guess you know who Thunder's real owner is now."

"Yeah, I noticed." At that, Su made an odd face before taking another bite of fruit, himself. "He seems more the type that would eat Thunder rather than adopt him as a pet."

Yunho coughed a little, choking on his own laughter, not that he would admit it. "He's not so bad as that. He treats animals well." He was aware of how Yunhak treated his owl, in any case. And Care of Magical Creatures had to be a subject he had pursued for his NEWTs for a reason.

Junsu just waved him off with a light flick of his wrist. "I'm just saying that if looks could kill..." he teased, a grin tugging at his lips. "Though I guess that's a common trait among most of the Slytherins, huh? Not everyone is Hufflepuff material~"

"It's good that we aren't judging books by their covers," Yunho replied. If he thought about it in terms of House, most Slytherins were not so different on the outside. But there was plenty to be found underneath. "Hiro looks cold outside, but he's kinder than he lets on."

"I'd be in a lot of trouble if we were~" He knew that his house didn't have the best reputation in terms of being gifted magically and were often questioned in terms of intelligence when compared to the rest of the school, but that was because most people didn't take the time to look a little deeper then the outward Hufflepuff goofiness and oddities. "I know Hiro's a good guy. He adopted Donghae, afterall. Or maybe Donghae adopted him...? "

"I wouldn't tell him that, though." The reaction would probably not be a very good one, even if he understood it was a joke. "He's good to have on your side. Very... talented." Aside from the charm he had worked on Yunho's neck, the Ravenclaw was recalling one of their earlier meetings. Unfortunately, it was not exactly one he could talk about.

"Talented? I don't doubt it, but aside from our snowball fight, I haven't really seen him do much." Stealing some more fruit from their shared bowl, he was silent for a long moment, just enjoying the peace of the beach. "Sounds like you've been getting close."

"Remember when I was a zombie for a week? He charmed the illusion." It was not exactly his idea of getting close, but he supposed allowing another wizard to point their wand at his neck was rather risky. Still, Yunho was generally trusting. There was no reason for anyone to wish him harm. Well, aside from whoever had pulled that prank on him the last day of school.

He did recall Yunho's week as a zombie. He had been one of the few who took to picking at the realistic looking wound to get a better look. "You're right, that was good work~" Leaning over, he rested his head on the other boy's shoulder, making himself comfortable.

"Mmhm." It was one of the reasons that he suspected Hiro was kinder than he seemed. Also more willing to have friends than he might have let on. "My killer was never found. Isn't that a shame?"

"Maybe we should try and solve that mystery once school starts up again." Junsu took to poking at Yunho's side lightly, seeing if he'd twitch. "Then maybe I and the other Magirangers can avenge our fallen leader."

Yunho laughed lightly, but was not so affected by the poking as to twitch yet. "You might need some help. But our Goddess and high priest have just graduated and they're the closest thing you've got to witnesses. Well, and Donghae."

"Donghae will just have to man up and take the lead, then. We'll avenge you, yet. We'll recruit Thunder as our bloodhound for the occasion. There'll be no stopping us~"

"I'm very honored that you're willing to go so far for me."

"Good. You should be." A large smile was flashed at Yunho then, wiggling his eyebrows playfully.

Yunho rewarded this with another hair muss as he finished off the last of the fruit. "Come on. Let's keep moving before we get used to basking in the sun."

"Alright, alright." Huffing as his hair was ruffled, Junsu pulled himself up to standing, brushing sand off of his shorts. "Let's go~"
