Poem: "Walking and Talking"

May 11, 2010 15:30

Today's freebie poem was inspired by flutterbychild but also several folks who talked about children and parents and various sorts of learning/teaching/sharing.

Walking and Talking

Lead by example; be kind in your speech,
Gentle with children who talk each to each.

Teach what you do as you do it all day;
Children learn more what you do than you say.

Say what you think, for the truth's a good creed --
Gently if possible, firmly at need.

Don't talk your walk; words are easy to say.
Steps are what get you to Point B from A.

Step to the music and dance on the bars.
Stand on your principles; reach for the stars.
