Dragonsails

Dragons fly by magic;
It's true, little friends.
That's just the beginning,
Never where it ends.

Topsail by your elbow,
Thumbsail by your thumb --
These, your leading edges,
Test the winds that come.

Outsail, first two fingers;
Midsail, in between;
Insail, last two fingers --
Glowing gold and green.

Sidesail from last finger
All along your flank
Lifts you when extended,
Lets you turn and bank.

Rudder on your tailtip
Is the last of all --
And the most important:
Who can't steer, will fall.

Lift and thrust and vector --
You must learn them well.
Dragons fly by magic;
Wing and sky still tell.
