Poem: "A Topsy-Turvy World"

Nov 03, 2011 22:37

This poem came out of the November 1, 2011 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was prompted by wyld_dandelyon and sponsored by laffingkat.  This is a triolet, an interlocking/repeating form that lends itself well to humorous topics.

A Topsy-Turvy World
-- a triolet

There once was a world that was built upside-down
With people as strange as you ever did see --
Why, they spoke through their toes and walked on their crown!
There once was a world that was built upside-down
With its rocks colored green and its plants all brown.
It had fish on the wing and birds in the sea.
There once was a world that was built upside-down;
People spoke through their toes and walked on their crown!
