The Names of Our Places
The names of our places
are written with heart
to show on their faces
where we are a part.
We whisper at night
the names of our places
where dreams take their flight
and go through their paces.
We slow when we can --
our lives are not races --
and love, to a man,
the names of our places.
We may forget dates,
we may forget graces,
but no time ablates
the names of our places.
