There are still verses left in the linkback poems " Thinking River Thoughts" and " The Marble and the Sculptor." Linking to this page will reveal new verses in whichever poem you request.

"Bad Hair Day"
These all contributed to the free-verse poem "Bad Hair Day." Set shortly after Aidan meets Saraphina, it's about Lakia's challenges with hair care. Danso and Aidan help sort out some solutions.
190 lines, Buy It Now = $95

Danso came home from school to find
a sullen Lakia seated in the kitchen with
Hannah braiding her hair into cornrows.

"Between Carefree and Careless"
A DW prompt inspired the free-verse poem "Between Carefree and Careless." Cassandra and Groundhog discuss gifts and community.
190 lines, Buy It Now = $95

Cassandra loved her new bike,
really she did, even though it was
a bit heavier than her old one and
the value still made her squeak.

"Blood and Water"
Your "Blood and Water" prompt became the title of a free-verse poem about Turq and Ansel. Turq is finally ready to start talking about the other people trapped in the lab with him.
312 lines, Buy It Now = $156

Turq sleeps, and he
dreams of blood and water.

He remembers the tank
and the tiny platform and
the bitter, creeping cold.

"Dinner at Donnie's"
Several prompts combined to inspire the free-verse poem "Dinner at Donnie's" in which the family goes out to eat at Donnie's Diner. Which is basically my fantasy of what a fully accommodating restaurant would look like.
342 lines, Buy It Now = $171

Danso is getting used to
Nathaniel's grandmother Abigail
showing up at least once a month
to play games or watch a movie
or take them out to a park.

"Elevator Etiquette"
A DW prompt inspired the free-verse poem "Elevator Etiquette," next in the Starbright thread. Some superheroes don't know when to let well enough alone. Some do.
124 lines, Buy It Now = $62

Word gets around, because
Render talks about what happened
every time that he stops at a bar,
which is at least once a week
and frequently more.

So the black capes hear
about the kooky volunteer who
wants them to do their civic duty
if a sick kid asks to meet them.

"Just Over the Horizon"
A DW prompt inspired the free-verse poem "Just Over the Horizon." Cassandra and Groundhog visit the community center in search of resources for her.
390 lines, Buy It Now = $195

Cassandra had a pronounced spring
in her step as she and Groundhog went
downstairs to the recreation floor.

She took her new cargo bike out of
the storage space that Groundhog
had rented for her, and then she
unlocked her old city cruiser from
the outside rack for him to borrow.

"The Peter Pan Maneuver"
A DW prompt inspired the free-verse poem "The Peter Pan Maneuver." Cassandra takes care of Groundhog and gets a flying lesson.
186 lines, Buy It Now = $93

Cassandra did her best
to take care of Groundhog
after his momentary flight.

She sat with him and
held him and kept him warm.

"Three of Us"
Your triad prompt inspired the free-verse poem "Three of Us." One month after Shay's birth, Yona and Troy and Bryony go on a date. Food, romance, and sexyfuntimes ensue.
74 lines, Buy It Now = $37

One month after Shay's birth,
the midwife approves Yona for
conjugal activities again.

Troy books a hotel room
for them over the weekend.

"To Keep Your Balance"
A DW prompt inspired the free-verse poem "To Keep Your Balance." Aidan and Groundhog bring surprises for Cassandra.
420 lines, Buy It Now = $210

After Groundhog's momentary flight,
Aidan came to check on both him and
Cassandra to see how they were doing.

Aidan was gentle and thorough
and as encouraging as he could be.

"To Protect the Most Vulnerable"
Several DW prompts inspired the free-verse poem "To Protect the Most Vulnerable." Mallory goes to a party at Maisie's house, which is totally different from the kind of party she's used to, and a little overwhelming.
316 lines, Buy It Now = $158

The more Mallory watched Heron,
the more she realized that he tended
to take care of everyone who let him.

He took care of other things, too,
like joining a group of students who
wanted to plant a pollinator garden in
a pocket park on the Urbanburg campus.
