Tuesday's poetry fishbowl was a lively one. I got a bunch of prompts early on, and a few more later. I started at 11:30 AM, and stopped working at 8:30 PM when a storm blew in; when I came back there were no new prompts so I just declared the session closed. So that's about 7 hours accounting for lunch and supper breaks. I wrote 16 poems, all short or medium; nothing over $15 this month. Some were based on single prompts, but others combined several. Only one was a rhymed, metered form but several were structured free verse. 15 people sent prompts, a nice strong showing, and there were 41 comments including mine.
[EDIT 4/22/09 adding poems]
These are the fishbowl poems that have already been published:
"The Absent-Bodied Professor" "Family Curses" "The Ghosts of Alexandria" "The Hands That Hold the World" "Palimpsest" "Socked Away" "The Things Between" "Vandervecken's Fleet" A discussion is going about "The Ghosts of Alexandria," particularly the last verse and whether it should be either expanded or deleted.
