I've been tallying up records from 2009. These are some of the highlights...
Total Prompters: 52
Total Donors: 36
Number of Poems Written: 195
Number of Fishbowl Poems Sold Outside: 1
....."The Mummy Child" (October 14, 2008 Horror)
Highest Number of Prompters: 19 (10/13/09 Horror: Shapeshifters)
Highest Number of Comments: 68 (10/13/09 Horror: Shapeshifters)
Total Poems Sponsored: 69
Total Poems Posted: 111
Total Poems Published Outside: 15 (3 of them fishbowl reprints)
I was intrigued to notice that I sold about 9 times as many poems directly to my audience as I did to conventional editors. Now part of that is because I slacked off my poetry submissions while working on the poetry collections; I usually sell a lot more poems in a year. But there is still a big jump in how many poems you folks are sponsoring, which fills me with great delight, because you do a better job of keeping up with my output than the magazine field does. It seems that crowdfunding is a comfortable fit for my poetry talent.
Thank you all. There is more poetry in the world because of you, and I hope you enjoy it.
