Dean/Castiel Big Bang Art Post 2010
Title: ICE OF OBLIVION

Summary: AU. In a time of great tragedy in the lands of Mamot, the human race and the angel race are forced to form an unbreakable union that will bind them together for twenty seven lifetimes in order to stop the uprising of the demon race. In bargain they offer Castiel, one of the most powerful angels in the entire world to marry Dean Winchester, the young crown prince of the human world. The typically detached Castiel winds up falling in love with the Prince. The only problem is his brothers don’t expect Dean to live through the war. Will Castiel stay and support the man he loves despite the heartbreak that might accompany his passing or will he fall back in line with his brothers, becoming numb to all human emotions once more?
Artist's notes: I got too overambitious by signing up the minibang and the bigbang. Shortly after minibang was closed, I had about a month to complete at least 2 pieces for the coming bigbang. And then, my over enthusiastic brain thought it would be a good idea to come out with XX pieces of artwork and then put it together in a XXXX, and because 2 weeks later I still haven't started anything, I started to rethink that maaaaaybe it's not really a good idea. Oh wait, my original posting date falls in the middle of my 3 weeks vacation!
WHAT WAS I THINKING?!
Anyway... *embarrassed and sheepishly* with some delays and postponing, this is what I've finally have.
Cover Art
I had sketched out another draft of the cover art, completely different direction I had with this one, but it doesn't feel right. So while I was having a slight artist's block, I came across this awesome doujin and I thought, I'd totally love the idea of Castiel embracing Dean possessively. <3
Often, I work as I goes. I don't planned how I want the final version turn out to be, or rather, I tried, but it always end up differently. LOL. I'm always experimenting as I goes along, that's why they don't turned out as I planned!
Definitely wasn't planning to have the "flowery pattern" on Cas's veil or the lace on Dean's collar, but it still turned out great! XD
World Map of Mamot
The map was part of my failed "grand plan". Pretty straight forward and I didn't color much. Did a lot of LOTR Middle Earth and Final Fantasy maps researching for the sketching and then just place in the text and texture.
I wish I really have a hard copy of this map though!

"...while he, Dean and Sammy were walking through the gardens one day, Castiel saw the most peculiar breed of plant. In fact, it was so peculiar that Castiel had to stop their walk for one whole hour just to further examine the tiny blue plant; which was much more than Dean's tiny attention span could take."
Dean
"He found Dean on the edge of a blue lake. He was standing in waist deep in the flowing water while running his fingers through the small amount of hair on his head; he held a small bar of soap in his hands - making the entire area smell like peppermint and limes - and slowly ran it down his body. Castiel watched, entranced, as the tiny pink suds ran down Dean’s body and created a small cloud at Dean's waist, shielding his nether regions from view. His body was reacting and for the love of god, he didn’t care. Dean was so… pleasing to the eye for lack of a better phrase.
Dean looked tensed and a little upset, he was slapping the water around and groaning every couple of seconds. When he noticed Castiel there - staring at him - he looked confused but his entire demeanor changed."
Engels: Michael(top left), Uriel(top right), Gabriel(bottom left) and Zachariah(bottom right).
I admit, THEY DON'T LOOK LIKE THE CHARACTERS IN SPN AT ALL (except Uriel). But eh, who heck cares. :x I have never drawn my characters so masculine before and so proud of it!
They are angels... but it's fitting that they look dark and intimidating, whether it's canon or zoomzoomzoomzoo's story.
