That's weird. So many of my friend's want to go but I went with the one who offers free transportation and lodging. Yeah, I'm greedy and shallow. But he's still a great guy.

The Arcade fire is pop drivel.

It reminds me of a glue huffing trip mixed with a bluenotes fall wear catalogue.

I think the Arcade Fire are quite original with their band line-up and background riffs. I've come to realize I don't like Modest Mouse's newer stuff (as much as I used to) but I really still enjoy listening to their earlier albums (like Moon & Antarctica).

I can definitely understand the dislike of Wolf Parade though, as they are pretty much a mix of Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse. Really generic, but I'm sometimes a sucker for that kind of stuff.

ps, I loved heart of darkness SO MUCH and I waited to see apocolypse now until after I'd read it. Holy shit, what a kick ass book, and tottally fucking incredible movie.

Yeah, I saw the movie and loved it a couple years ago. Part way through reading the book I thought the whole experience vaguely reminded me of the movie, and realized the movie was in fact loosely based on the book. I just can't get over the book though. I have definitely not read anything better in my life.

Oh I wish I liked Heart of Darkness as much ad you. I'm totally behind in it, & am constantly zoning out as I try to read it.

Yeah, I was so far behind with it as well until just this morning. I set up in Serious Coffee with a book and mocha and read for 2 hours. The problem I have though is I enjoy it so much I keep having to put it down or re-read it to take it all in.
