I just watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom....and realized I'd never actually seen it before. I'm going to watch Raiders tomorrow...I'm SURE I've seen that before.

But if you'd asked me yesterday if I'd ever seen Temple I would have said "Duh, of course I have. Who hasn't?"

So, anyways, I'm on an....well, what genre would you throw this

Have you seen Stargate (the 1994 James Spader/Kurt Russell movie)? It's not exactly a sci-fi masterpiece, but it marginally fits into the genre you describe, and it's a good lead-in to the SG-1 series. It's in the bargain bins over here; not sure if that'd be the case where you are.

Yes! I'd forgotten about that one. Thanks! But movies, bargin bin or not, are Region 2 here, so useless to me. I'm a pirate....arrrrgh!

Yeah, I'd forgotten about the whole region thing. You'd obviously know more than I do about how to obtain a region 1 copy.
