To avoid scandals forever, be level-headed and fair in any sort of relationship (romantic of otherwise) you're in. Someone's hot-tempered or mediterranean attitude isn't an excuse for unreasonable explosions. Why deal with that?

People from the Balkans and the Mediterranean - both males and females - have a reputation for having a fiery temper. (There's a reason why the French refer to Spaniards and Italians as "soupe au lait" or milk-based soup - milk has a much lower boiling point than water.) Sure, everyone has a bad day or gets annoyed but the average person should be able to control his/her temper under most circumstances. If the slightest nuisance causes your guy to "explode" and/or get physically violent, it's clearly a personal issue that you should not have to be subject to.

The problem is that we may understand "slightest nuisance" in different way...
Anyway, the last explosion was like Hirosima - everything's dead around and dust is in the air...
