It's audio fic, often referred to as podfic but able to be listened to on anything. Just like an audio book it's a recording of someone reading fanfiction aloud so IT'S LIKE READING FANFICTION EVEN WHILE YOU'RE DOING OTHER STUFF. YAY!

Some of my previous fandom loves *coughSGAcough* have had a lot of it and I think Star Trek needs more.

The last two days have been a mire of emotional trauma (its finally getting better now). But I will record this, probably tomorrow.

And you're right, that would be a good one. It's a powerful, very self-contained little piece. ^_^

Though... generally the purpose of audiofic is to have a recording of your favorite fics so YOU can listen to them. When you're bored, or busy, or have forgotten them, you can put them on. Are there any fics you like to re-read? Not that I mind recording yours, but... do you like to re-read your own work? Or do you just want to put it out there so other people can listen to it? If it's someone else's fic I'd just ask the author if I could record it and usually people are totally cool with it. Then I'd give it to you!

Or if there's an author you've been meaning to check out, or a rec you haven't gotten to it's also fun to listen to audiofics that you've never read.

Sorry if you already understood all of this and just want Surfaces anyway. ^^;; Or just aren't into re-reading/listening to fanfiction.

Amazing how first your friends stage an intervention that makes you realize how much of LIFE is passing you by while you're on the internet. Then you drift away, and feel guilty about, which promotes more drifting. Then you're too guilty to come back. ^^;;

Life is out there, and it's important to live it! But there's only so much time in a day, and you can only do so much with it, and RL should always be first. I guess the trick is to keep a balance between the work and the play time, but as usual, that's harder to do than to say, nah? I'm glad to see you back, though; I missed seeing you around and wondered what had happened.

And, yes, thanks, I'm doing well! And still writing -- mostly in the same places I was when you last peeked, in fact, although not nearly as volubly. :S Life and other projects have a way of eating up writing time, don't they?
