Pairing : broken! TaoRis friendship! LayTao
Rating : PG
Length : One-Shot
Genre : Angst? Hurt/Comfort
Summary: Tao got dumped. Lay is sad because the only thing Tao now does is cry, but Lay has a way to fix things. this may seem a bit misleading, but please remember to look at the pairings carefully. :>
It hurt Lay seeing Tao beating himself up over a breakup he didn’t deserve. It hurt to see how the kid cried at night and would ask Lay his thoughts on what Tao could’ve possibly done to have prevented the break up. Why he wasn’t perfect enough for Kris. But Kris wasn’t perfect, nowhere near so. No one is. And it troubled Lay that Tao would say such things. Couldn’t he see that if Kris didn’t see the amazing things in Tao, then he obviously wasn’t worth the time? The tears? The heartache?
It was on the 5th night of Tao crying that Lay decided he should do something. He didn’t know too much of the guy that dumped Tao, just some basics, so trying to find the jerk and telling him a piece of his mind would’ve been too difficult. So he decided to try something on Tao.
The hallway was dark, it was night after all, and the only source of “light” illuminating Lay’s way towards Tao bedroom was from the TV he left on in the living room. Once in front of the room, he noticed the lights to the younger’s room were off, since no light came from under the door. He grabbed at the doorknob and twisted it softly, not making much noise and he let himself in.
It was apparent that Tao wasn’t really expecting his roommate to come visit him, because the younger immediately sat up from where he was laying on the bed, he quickly brushed his hands across his face trying to get some of the tears that had dropped away. Tao cleared his throat, What’s wrong, Ge? the fact that he’d cleared his throat served no purpose since his words came out as a low croak, which just made Lay ache all the more.
Tao… he started softly, making his way to the bed and pulling the younger into his arms Tao…. The simple act of feeling himself in an embrace erupted more sobs from Tao as he clutched at Lay as if he were his lifeline. Tao, how long do you plan on crying over him for?
It still hurts, Ge. Lay sighed, rubbing random circles on Tao’s back.
Wanna hear something that happened today? Tao didn’t answer, but Lay took that as an initiative to let him start. Okay, so I went to a baseball game today. After a bit I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger, then it hit me.
Lay actually felt how the laugh bubbled up inside of Tao, first it was a small chuckle, followed by his shoulders trembling and ending with him laughing I can’t believe that. And then, I went to the park and started playing Frisbee, I was confused coz all of the sudden the sun had when out, then it hit me. a chuckle from Tao And just a bit ago, I was texting Luhan-Ge laying on the couch, I didn’t know what to reply when I raised the phone to my face, but then it hit me.
Umh… not so funny as the first time, Ge Lay pulled back from their embraced, putting his hands on Tao’s shoulder and he looked at him straight in his eyes Exactly, which brings me to this observation. A joke gets tiring after a while, doesn’t it? You can’t laugh at the same joke again and again. he made a pause to see if he still had the younger’s attention, and got a nod .
So, why keep crying over the same thing again and again, Tao? Forget him, it’s his lost. You’re an amazing person; he just failed in seeing that. It makes me sad to see you so depressed, smile again. Be happy again, you got dumped. It’s okay, you’ll get over it, and I’ll help you.
