I love having the chance of coming back into the world of 7Pog, I think I won't stop repeating that, ever (or at least until this story's end).
I like how this story's developing, with the whole "Snow and Ash" meaning...and I do agree with you when you say that jealousy and greed have their hands entwined together.
Like 7PoG angst is always there...I loved reading about Shige's feelings for Ryo and his will to comfort him, you really showed how much they care for each other.
And how not to sympathize with Shige's desire to wake up like nothing had happened?

Ah, sorry for confusing you. The man from 7PoG originated the curse and Shiku's more involved with the dreams and she also is in charge of something else that will be revealed later on.
