You guys. This movie. It's one of the Movies Of My Heart. And it's 20 years old; let's get some celebrating up in here!
Ye cast: Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, David Strathairn, Dan Aykroyd, River Phoenix, Ben Kingsley, and Mary McDonnell.
Ye plot: A group of security testers are approached by the government to get a little black box out of a crytographer's office. Only the little black box is not what it seems... and neither are the government guys who brought them the job, for that matter.
This movie is both obviously a product of the 'so the Cold War just ended... um... now what?' era and so far ahead of its time it isn't funny ("it's not about who's got the most bullets, it's about who controls the information"). It's got a zillion good lines and wonderful characters, and plenty of shenanigans to go round. (And Liz. Liz deserves a special mention.)
