Greetings, fellow Yuletiders!
Do you have a perennial unfilled request -- something you've asked for in Yuletide year after year, without ever getting fic for it? If so, this challenge is for you! And also for everybody else out there, the people who might finally make your dreams come true.
"Some Day My Fic Will Come" is a collection of
perennial requests, collated together so that people looking to write something for NYR can browse that list for inspiration and possibly make someone even more happier. Prompts for this challenge should fulfill the following two criteria:
1) You've asked for it in Yuletide at least three times, AND
2) It has never been filled.
You don't have to have asked for it this past Yuletide, nor do the requests have to be consecutive. We won't be policing the list at all, so we just ask that you not submit prompts that have been filled before, even if you'd love to see somebody tackle them again. The idea here is to draw attention to the requests that have shown up year after year, but never gotten a fic at all.
If you have a prompt that fits the bill, post the following in the comments:
Your AO3 name:
Fandom:
Character(s): (if applicable)
Link: (optional)
Prompt:
Try to keep the prompt relatively short; the idea is that people browsing can easily get the gist of what you're hoping for and know whether it's in their ballpark or not. If you want to go into more detail, include general likes/dislikes, etc, then you're welcome to link to a past Dear Yuletide Writer letter or a post written for this purpose, but that's entirely optional.
If you want to fulfill one of the prompts, all you have to do is
find something you like in the spreadsheet. Then follow the usual NYR process: write the story, tag the recipient, add it to the collection. (If you want to tag it "Some Day My Fic Will Come," you're welcome to.) It's that simple!
And if you got lucky this year -- if you had a prompt in the list that finally got filled -- let us know! We'll take it off the spreadsheet and keep the metaphorical house tidy.
