I figure the mods are probably unconscious by now, or working hard at it by way of drugs and booze, so let's have a quick reminder post, and the time-honoured tradition of the Dear Santa Thread!
So, notes mostly lifted from last year's yule assignment posts:
here and
here 1) Please do not make contact with your Santa or recipient. This includes asking for or making anonymous comments in yours or their ljs! If you have any questions for your recipient, please email the yule mods at yuletide@yuletidetreasure.org and they will act as go-betweens.
2) Write a "Dear Yuletide Santa" letter in your LJ! If you included your lj address in your sign-up, your Santa will probably be stalking you tirelessly checking you out over the next few days, so now's the time to add in details you forgot, clarify your request, or maybe give some pointers on what you like and what you really hope not to see. BUT, Santas, please don't hop over and friend your recipient's lj now, it's going to be a dead giveaway!
IF you don't have an lj or didn't put it in the sign-up form, leave a signed "Dear Yuletide Santa" comment here with the name you signed up under in the subject line so they can find you easily! Or just link to your Dear Santa post in your lj. See here for
examples of past Dear Santa letters.
3) Remember, the story you will write has a minimum word-count requirement of 1,000 words. More is fine, but it must meet the minimum count or you will be ineligible to participate in future years. You won't be able to upload if the file isn't big enough for yule! ;)
4) Here's the
Upload Form. Do check out the formatting tips in
Upload Help first, and PLEASE preview your story to check that any smartquotes have been removed and accented characters look like they should, because once you upload, no change is possible without crying and prostrating before the poor overworked yule mods!
5) Finally, and most importantly - HAVE FUN! And, Yule mods, thanks for making all this possible!
