It hurts so much to see how badly Frodo was wounded from the Quest, mentally and physically. I'm glad Sam's candle gave him some comfort.

Even in his sadness, Frodo thinks of Sam, allowing himself to be honored for Sam's sake. It's understandable that Frodo feels he could have done more, even though, with Sam's help, he completed his quest. This is such a poignant tale.
