First of all,
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012
Last year was pretty Topsy-turvy for me. I had a tough time the first half of the year, which peaked at having to leave Germany and return to Indonesia. Sure I promised I won't regret my decision, but sometimes I still miss that country dearly. Even though where I am now is my home country, Germany felt like home. Maybe because I'd never spent my life continuously as long as I did there. My life had always been moving from one place to another every few years, so being in Germany for nearly 11 years was a record, lol xD
But that aside, I'm having fun here at home, even though I still get cultural shock every so often, especially when it comes to discipline, order, or mentality in general. But hey, I'm learning to deal with it.
Then I took the translator course for 3 months, and now I actually can start looking for clients, but somehow I'm taking things very slowly.
There were also a bunch of weddings to attend last year; the biggest one being my brother's. I honestly still can't believe him being married. I can only be sure when I see the wedding band around his ring finger xD
I also went on trips with my parents, met new people...
Anyway, all in all, it was a pretty god year. I just hope 2012 will become even better! I never make resolutions, but I only wish that everything will proceed smoothly ^^
So, and as for last night on New Year's Eve, since my brothers and sis-in-law went out of town with friends, I spent the night with my parents. We went out for dinner, then went to a mall where an eve party was held. But my dad wasn't very keen of staying there since it was too loud, so in the end we went for a drive at about 10pm, and arrived downtown at 11.30pm, where the fireworks were being launched. We parked, looked for a place to watch it on an overpass. It was really nice. Here I have a pic:
The cars on the left side were stuck since the road was blocked up ahead around the roundabout. So it was almost like parking in the middle of the road. It was the same on the other side of the road, which is why the right side of the pic was empty. You could literally sit, lie down or even roll around the street if you wanted. In fact, some people were really doing it xD
We left at about 1am after the congestion was released, but it was still full everywhere, so we arrived home only when it was almost 3am... and then I had a great sleep until almost noon xD
