Continuing the issues I've had since December with my 'death-touch' with electronic items, I have yet another thing to add to the list. Granted, this has been an on-going problem for a couple of years and has been dubbed my 'love-hate relationship' with hotmail by RL friends.
I've had the same email account with hotmail for about 7 to 8 years now, probably even 9, and only recently has hotmail been screwing with it. About two years ago, I discovered that despite using my hotmail account every day and being active on it, it was deemed an inactive account and my address was recycled and someone else picked it up. Thankfully I noticed something was wrong quick enough and was able to switch around things, locking the other person out of it. Then, about a year ago, something happened again and I wasn't able to log into my inbox for a couple of days because it was once again deemed inactive. Thankfully, I managed to screw around with it enough in desperation to get it back.
Well... hotmail did the same thing again to me a few days ago for another couple of days. I managed to get my inbox back again, but it's been coming and going. I think I've finally had it with hotmail, and will be closing down that account before I get locked out of my inbox for good, and simply because I'm sick and tired of trying to deal with it. I think I will finally get a gmail account instead.
Hopefully hotmail decides to let me continue having access to my inbox so I can switch around emails on my accounts. If not, that means I'll be having to do something else to fix this. Thankfully there are only two sites I've used that email account for since getting yahoo. Unfortunately, they are the sites I use quite a bit. *Crosses fingers that she can transfer the email address for her ffnet account*
I have happily created a gmail account. For those of you who had my hotmail address, feel free to message me for my gmail address if you want it. I've been trying to figure out my contact list, but sadly, I haven't deleted old email addresses in a couple of years so I've found myself scratching my head, trying to figure out which email addresses are the ones being used now. Note to self: Start keeping contact lists in better order.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get my email address to switch on the accounts. Meaning, I think I have to move over all my stories on Kurai Mori to YumeMori on ffnet, and pretty much close that one down since I won't be able to receive anything. Such as was almost the case last night with someone requesting my services as a beta-reader. Thankfully, I managed to get that sorted out and get them my other email address for discussion of editing. I don't think anyone understands how much more I enjoy editing/'beta'ing over actually writing. And I enjoy writing a lot.
Different promised updates to come once I figure out just how I'm going to move things over...
