I wasn't crazy about Persuasion because I never really took to Anne. She was the second least popular heroine in my Jane Austen class. I think Fanny Price was the one people disliked most. The feistier heroines like Lizzy and Emma seemed to have more fans.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about Anne. I love her commentary because I love that cold wit, but overall, she doesn't thrill me like some of her other heroines. I love the book more for some of the minor characters and the plot line. I actually liked her older sister so much better.

It's been forever since I read "Persuasion." So nice to see people still reading Jane Austen!
