Your Passion Burns

Oct 21, 2008 23:40

This was written for the October Mini-Contest for Brigits_Flame. The topic was "Personal Evolution", written with an ABCB rhyme scheme and (hopefully) with some kind of rhythm as requested.

Verse 1:
You went away and maybe I went insane
Clinging to the memories when you're nearby
Instead of feeling your loss in my core
And I still can't find the reason why

Chorus:
Your passion stills burns through the pain
Baby, can you teach me not to cry?
I'm left feeling nothing but unsure
Why can't I lie and say goodbye?

Verse 2:
Will this pain stop seeming so vain?
If only I could lie, then I would deny
How deeply it hurts straight down to my core
And why am I still trying to find out why

Chorus:
Your passion still burns through the pain
It's hard, but I'm learning not to cry
And I'm left feeling nothing but unsure
I'll learn to try to say goodbye.

Verse 3:
You went away and only I remain
Forgotten the memories and all the lies.
On myself, I'll rely for the cure
And I finally see the reasons why

Chorus:
Your passion was just a feign, now mine I obtain
Baby, for once my eyes are clear and dry
No longer lost and unsure, I finally feel secure
Just you see, I've learned to say goodbye.
In the embers of my passion, I'll sustain
Oh, you'll see, you'll see that away I'll fly.
