Summary: Pi and Ryo are drifting apart ....
Ryo and Pi were always together. Even when Ryo was with Kanjani he phoned Pi, mailed him or called him. There was no day they didn’t talk with each other in any kind of way.
Till today.
It was one year ago when they left NewS. Since then everything went south. Ryo was busy with Kanjani, Pi followed his own way of a solo career and both of them didn’t talk with each other very often. Ryo missed the times they were inseparable. He never had the courage to tell Pi what he really felt, but he was glad to have him around. Now he wished he would have said something much earlier.
“I will go to U.S next week.” Pi said during one of the rare meals they had together. Ryo looked up. His heart started beating faster. “How long will you be there?” His voice almost broke. Even though they didn’t talk every day by now, Ryo always had the feeling that Pi was around. He could call him, visit him every time he wanted to.
“I don’t know exactly. Maybe one month.” Pi tilted his head to look closer at Ryo. “Is everything alright, Ryo?”
“We are walking away from each other, right?” Ryo’s eyes were sad. Pi knew him sine forever, and he knew what Ryo thought and what he felt. But there was something else in Ryo’s behaviour, something Pi couldn’t see until now. “Ryo, it’s not that. You know I worked for this way.” Ryo shook his head. “It’s not you going to U.S now, it’s generally. We drift apart. It’s not like I am used to.”
“But you know that I am here if you need me, right?” Pi seemed quite shocked about Ryo’s confession.
“No, it’s not like this. It’s like you walk away from me. Please don’t do that, Pi.” Ryo’s voice sounded desperate.
“Ryo…it’s really not like that.” It was the first time Pi’s hand brushed over Ryo in a lovely way. Ryo wanted to pull his hand away, but it felt good - too good to be true. “I will never walk away from you, okay?”
Ryo smiled. He enjoyed the small touch of the other one’s hand. It was a good sign. He looked up, directly into Pi’s eyes. There he saw it. He knew him forever, but it was the first time he saw it. He knew Pi would never leave him, but only getting back, much closer, to him.
