That’s pretty special. As it is he’s in for hit-and-run if I remember the law right, which is a felony; I am glad to hear that nobody got injured during his stunt.

Hit and run is a misdemeanor, and the law doesn't make any distinction between "Oops, I swiped your car trying to get out of the parking lot" and "MY CAR IS TOTALLY A BATTERING RAM." So he's being prosecuted for vandalism, which actually carries heftier penalties and will still get his license taken away.

I stand corrected; having his license taken away is definitely a positive outcome here. Hope your car is okay.
