Beat'em Ups
Lawl, NamcoxCapcom gave me the slight idea to do a post about Beat'em Ups I have played so far. xD'
Yeah, my second passion after RPGs are Beat'em Ups, lawl. xD'
And there is always a person longing for entries. xD
Okay, here I go, I'll write them in the order I played them.. I think. xD
Tekken: Tekken.. I was introduced to it by my older sis, than my younger sis got interesed and got some PS-magazine which had a demo to it, and the fighting system was quite fun. So... technically, I played Tekken 3 as first, but for real.. Tekken Tag was the first beat'em up I played, considering Tekken 3 was a demo with only 2 characters playable. xD
I loved to play that game so much, it has stunning graphics and a wide range of different characters and fighting styles. It's usually hand-to-hand combat (with the exception for a few characters), and as the first beat'em up I played it will be always special in my heart. xD
The characters of Tekken.. hm, since I looked through NamcoxCapcom, I have the feeling they are pretty much retarded, plus the storyline is always revenge, revenge, revenge.. which gets kinda old and the fact that characters get almost always revived. xD'
They don't really come up with a new storyline and yeah.. so beat'em ups aren't supposed to be that much about stories, I guess..
Tekken is also at fault that I have a slight obsession about Korea. xD

Movie: There was a movie to Tekken, mixing the first and second Tekken-tournament. It's mainly the story between Kazuya and Jun, and how she saves him from hatred.

Lawl-points:
-why from all characters Roger gets screentime xD

-Kazuya is rescued from his hatred and should live happily ever after, but isn't shown in the epilogue
There are a few Chinese movies, I think, and another Tekken-movie to come, which will center about Jin and his killer-instincts towards his father and grandfather, but yeah.. don't know anything about them. xD'
Street Fighter: Here it comes, the mother of all Beat'em Ups, Street Fighter, which I will also call my personal favourite between all those games, though it might be for all those adaptions it got that the characters grew so much on me. Yeah, I like them more than the system itself, though I have also fun playing that, but I fail so much at that game adfhadkf, it's soo difficult for me to get enough points to enter the proper storyline. xD'
The game is nowhere as fancy as modern beat'em ups are, but it has it's own charm and I enjoy the 2D-graphics in SF more than the 3D-ones, to be entirely honest. The characters all have... very similar moves somehow (at least the way you have to push the buttons), but I don't mind. xD'
NamcoxCapcom made me love the characters in that game even more, though I tend to prefer.. yes, the Capcom vs. SNK-crossovers, they give me somehow more fun than the regular SF-games. xD'
So when I come to the characters, I will write them down, too. xD
The story.. well, the characters at least develop here, which is already a great point for it and don't stay as they are in the beginning. Plus Ryu&Ken's rivalry&friendship? Gets a major win from me.
The western localisation gets a mee-point of me, though. I mean.. I still kinda understand the mess with license and the swap between Vega(->M.Bison), Balrog(->Vega), M.Bison(->Balrog), yeah.. but why turn Gouki into Akuma? Or Satsui Hadou no mezameta Ryu into Evil Ryu? Or brainwashed Ken into violent Ken? XDDDD
Characters I use: Ken Masters, Ryu, Blanka, Nakoruru, Yuri, Kim, Terry, Hokuto, Dan and others if I feel like it. xD I would like to play Karin one of these days. xD

Street Fighter Alpha(Zero): This is based on Ryu's awakening to the "Satsui no Hadou" after their master was killed by Gouki. Must be set shortly after, since it is the first time Ken realizes it in that movie etc etc. xD'
Ryu struggles with that Satsui no Hadou inside him, Ken comes for a vist, and voila - unexpected visitor Shun explains them he was Ryu's little brother and to make the confusion perfect, he also seems a victim to the satsui no hadou. Meanwhile, Sakura chases after Ryu and Chun Li investigates a scientist named Sadler.
Second part of the movie is about how Ryu, Ken and Chun Li try to save Shun from Sadler.
I think - though I don't really like the art of that movie too much - this might be my favourite movie out of the four, I struggle mostly between the SF II-movie and this one.

Street Fighter IV: Ryu wanders around and struggles with the Satsui no Hadou, Ken is in stress due to work, Cammy, Guile and Chun Li investigate a mysterious organization which kidnaps fighters and do weird experiments with them. In the meanwhile, Viper approaches Ken and his wife, Eliza.

Dead or Alive: The first game was also on the same demo as the Tekken-one, but I think the regular game was later? Well, I am not entirely sure if SF or this was first. xD
Anyways, game-play-wise, this is my favourite out of the beat'em ups, the fights are lots of fun and all that stuff, though sometimes the.. boobs are dkfkf. xD'
Characterwise, the girls are love, some of the guys are, of course, too. xD
Storywise... only the protagonists get a change in their story, the rest seems doomed to have the same storyline for eternity. xD

A regular movie and no, I haven't really watched it, only parts and I won't look at it again because they fight-scenes made me laugh too much xD'
Soul Calibur: My sis got it for the Dreamcast.. and that's about it. She also bought the two sequels.The graphics again are very pretty, but I really have not that much fun with the fighting system. xD'
Story... I guess seems okay for me. xD
Everyone is after Soul Edge and stuff, but for their own reasons. xD

Serioiusly, this movie is so bad, the only thing which saves this movie is Byron Man for me. xDD
Street Fighter - some Chun Li centered movie, I won't even watch it. Why? Chun Li = pianist? No thanks.xD
Dead or Alive: The first game was also on the same demo as the Tekken-one, but I think the regular game was later? Well, I am not entirely sure if SF or this was first. xD
Anyways, game-play-wise, this is my favourite out of the beat'em ups, the fights are lots of fun and all that stuff, though sometimes the.. boobs are dkfkf. xD'
Characterwise, the girls are love, some of the guys are, of course, too. xD
Storywise... only the protagonists get a change in their story, the rest seems doomed to have the same storyline for eternity. xD

A regular movie and no, I haven't really watched it, only parts and I won't look at it again because they fight-scenes made me laugh too much xD'
Soul Calibur: My sis got it for the Dreamcast.. and that's about it. She also bought the two sequels.The graphics again are very pretty, but I really have not that much fun with the fighting system. xD'
Story... I guess seems okay for me. xD
Everyone is after Soul Edge and stuff, but for their own reasons. xD

Virtua Fighter: I own only one game of those, and while it gets highly recommended in every magazine, I don't fnd it that good. xD
At least not that fun, but than again, I haven't properly trained any of those characters, but they seem okay, only a bit slow for an offensive fighter like me. xD
So, like I said, I have not much idea of the story, nor do I use specific characters and I also don't know any adaptions of it. xD
On another note, the Pegasus-centric chat yesterday was awesome. xD
