Sixth Entry

That time of the year again, is it...?

Two weeks.

I suppose I'm expected to bring a lady to the ball, aren't I?

There's only one lady I'd like to bring.

Always a difficult time of the year. How are you?

I'll manage. I have to.

Much to my father's dismay, I'll be attending the ball alone again this year.

Should I say that I'm sorry, or should I congratulate you?

I don't suppose either is truly necessary. I do prefer it this way, though.

But then it would seem appropriate to congratulate you~

Got someone you like? Well, hopefully things work out between you and your mystery lady. Everyone needs love and happiness in their life after all.

Thank you. So. Do you have someone special?

Well everyone's special but nope, don't have anyone. I'm still kind of new to the capital though so maybe with time I'll meet someone.

I didn't know you to be a fany of any one lovely lady, Yukimura. Have you been holding out on me? Or perhaps you've finally developed an unhealthy relationship to your sword.

I do not think I'd ever call a sword a lady. It's about the most masculine thing there is. The scabbard though...

Ah, very true.

But that still didn't answer my question. What lady would you like to take?

No one you know.

Supposed to be some fancy thing, that ball?

Something like that, yes.

How nice. Nothing I'd like going to, though. I'm nothing for the fancy stuff, don't understand em. Or the point. Care to tell a simple wanderer 'bout it?

It's tradition and it's for the noble born. Not something a rooftop wanderer ought to be interested in.
