All right, here's what the "furrin werds" mean.

kendo: Martial art involving whacking people with bamboo swords.
shogi: Japanese chess.
hakama: very loose Japanese trousers. They are sexy.
gaijin: foreigner, particularly a white one.
matsuri: festival
Tanabata: literally "seventh night", a Japan-wide festival usually held on July 7th that concerns a legendary pair of star-crossed lovers who get to cross the Milky Way and meet each other only on that day
yukata: informal cotton kimono worn in summer
okaasan: mother
otousan: father
obaachan: grandma
kaitenzushi: sushi on a conveyor belt
suupaa: supermarket
ramune: marble soda that always likes to explode on me when I open it
ofuro: Japanese bath
tanka: Japanese poem with 5-7-5-7-7 syllable lines
Hachiman-zaka: the huge-ass hill I have to climb every day to school
kaonashi: "no-face", Miyazaki character
kodama: forest spirit

All of this will be on the test.
