Disclaimer: Not owning those guys mentioned in this fic. They just own themselves. And probably Johnny owns part of them, but I don't have a proper proof for that.
Summary: Ueda had a very, very bad date and needs someone to get him home....
Comment: After my very first Fanfiction for KAT-TUN actually was an Akame FF (though it was in German...) I decided to at least make the second one Maruda. Because I really do love Maruda.

His first choice had been Kazuya.
Kazuya was reliable, a good friend and would rush over here without hesitation. He wouldn’t ask, not a single question, he would just come here and take Ueda home.
His second choice was Jin.
Jin would come just as quickly as Kazuya, he would pick Ueda up; he was reliable as well. But he’d ask questions and he’d like to know the whole story and then he’d always annoy Ueda with telling him how stupid he was.
Koki would come as well, probably not as quickly as the other two, but he would come as well. The difference was he’d ask- just as Jin-, but he wouldn’t tease Ueda secretly, he’d tell it the whole world and that was the last thing Ueda wanted.
Junno… as for Junno, Ueda didn’t even spend a second thought on it, because Junno would finish his meal, his game, whatever he was doing before coming over to pick Ueda up. And the slim man wasn’t able to wait any longer than he already had.
He had waited for his date to return, to come back and apologize for being so damn stupid. Ueda would have forgiven him, probably. But for now, after more than an hour of waiting, Ueda was really mad. And cold.
He hadn’t realized earlier in the evening how cold it was outside. It was November and outside of the city it really was just freezing. His coat did look really nice and chic, but it didn’t warm him at all.
He’s been waiting here for an hour, having faith in the good and nice side of his date, but he
hadn’t returned. Though Ueda was convinced the man really had a nice side. What else had he fallen for then? What else had Ueda made going out with him, when there wasn’t anything positive about him?
But right now Ueda was so sure there was really nothing nice at all about this man. He had told Ueda to show him a very nice place where one could see the stars and it had really been nice. It had been really sweet, and Ueda had even thought about letting the other male kiss him, because the idea had been really romantic.
But then they had started to discuss over something stupid, something not important at all. But his date had gone totally mad at him, because stubborn as Ueda was he didn’t give in and had defended his point of view. Whatever it had been about.
Ueda sighed and looked at his mobile phone. He couldn’t even remember what the fight was about. But it wasn’t important anymore; he wouldn’t meet that man again and if he met him again then he would do the same awful things to him.
Leaving him all alone in the middle of nowhere.
Ueda felt like crying as he looked around once more. There was just this very small street he was standing at and then there was nothing else than the wide and endless field around him. And the beautiful night sky above him.
He was trembling and shaking, fighting with himself to give in and call someone to pick him up.
It had been nearly thirty minutes since the last car had passed by and it didn’t seem like there would come another one. He had thought about walking back, but it had taken them about an hour to come here and Ueda couldn’t really remember from which direction they had come from.
He felt lost and tried to hold back his tears.
Why was Nakamaru always right about the men Ueda was going out with? He didn’t have dates that often, honestly, but whenever he had one Nakamaru was telling him that the guy was worth nothing.
For this one he had told Ueda he’d end up all alone in the middle of nowhere because that guy wasn’t reliable at all.
That’s why Ueda had spent a thought at Junno, but not even a single one at Nakamaru. The brunette was just as reliable as Kazuya and would be here just as quickly, he’d pick up Ueda from anywhere, for sure. And though Ueda knew Nakamaru wouldn’t tease him, he wouldn’t even get on Ueda’s nerves with telling him how right he had been, Ueda couldn’t call him.
He didn’t want Nakamaru to know, he didn’t want the other one to see how pathetic he was.
So he remained with his first choice and gave his pride up, calling Kazuya’s home number. Though it already was half past twelve in the middle of the night he knew he could call.
He got a little nervous after it ringed for five times and no one had picked the phone up. But then he heard that Click and how someone picked it up.
“Eh… moshi moshi..?”
Ueda caught his breath and remained silent for a second, then he said what had come to his mind first: “Maru, why are you picking up Kame’s phone?”
“Ueda!” the older one said in relief. “Kame and I had dinner together.”
Wanting to cry now even more Ueda rubbed his forehead. “However, it’s important; can I please talk to him?”
“He’s not here.”
“Why are you there then?”
Ueda could almost see Nakamaru gesturing vaguely with his hands, trying to evade answering this as he didn’t answer promptly. “Well, he left… Jin called and then he didn’t say much more then that Jin needed him and left.”
Perfect. Ueda sighed heavily. That was just perfect. Kazuya and Jin were both out of the question now.
“Why are you calling? Maybe I can help you?” Nakamaru offered friendly and made Ueda feel even worse.
“No, no… it’s okay. I call Koki then.”
It was silent for a while and Ueda was about to hang up, when Nakamaru suddenly said: “Aren’t you supposed to be on a date tonight? Are you back already?”
The younger man hesitated to answer, and then he said: “No, I’m not back.”
“Where are you then?”
Ueda felt the tears filling his eyes and was about to give up and just ask Nakamaru to come and save him. “I don’t know”, he said in a weak voice, already filled with some tears.
Now Nakamaru’s voice was all serious. “Tatsuya, what happened? Are you okay?”
“I’m cold and I don’t know where I am and I’m all alone and it’s dark and…”
“It’s okay, describe what you see. Can you remember where you came from?”
“The only thing I see is this street and a field, it’s just fields everywhere.” The younger male whined.
“Try to remember anything, okay? Otherwise I can’t come and pick you up, if I don’t know where you are.” Nakamaru tried to calm him.
Ueda took a deep breath and pulled himself together. Then he told Nakamaru everything he could remember.
“I think I know where you are. He took you quite far to get rid of you.”, he just commented, but before Ueda could answer it he said: “I’m on my way.”
The light brunette wanted to say something, but Nakamaru had already hung up. That meant he was on his way, Ueda was sure and tried to reassure himself that Nakamaru would come soon.
He felt like he couldn’t stand anymore, but didn’t dare to sit down and rest. He’d just get even colder then.
It felt like years went by and Ueda stared up to the sky, watching the stars. He just moved his head to look at the car as he heard it coming. His hands felt cold, his toes were so freezing and he wasn’t sure if he was still able to walk. If that wasn’t Nakamaru, he was sure he was going to die out here.
He turned around completely as the car stopped nearby and he could recognize the familiar face. He had never been so happy to see it.
Without really noticing it Ueda’s feet moved themselves and just a few seconds later he flew straight into Nakamaru’s arms. He clutched to the older man and sobbed silently.
Surprised Nakamaru didn’t know what to do with his hands first, then he gently wrapped them around the smaller man and reassured him that everything was okay now.
He went Ueda to the car, helped him to get into it and then turned the temperature higher, so that Ueda got warmer again.
Even as they were driving back to the city, it remained silent between them and Ueda just threw a few looks every now and then at Nakamaru. It was unusual for the older man not to talk at all.
“Don’t you want to ask what happened?” Ueda asked finally.
Nakamaru shrugged his shoulders. “If you don’t want to talk about it, then I won’t ask.”
Ueda nodded and watched out of the window again. But then he spoke up again. “I can’t believe he really left me there all alone.”
“What did you do to make him that mad at you?”
Ueda gave him an angry glare. “I didn’t do anything. It’s not my fault when he’s not able to handle me.”
Nakamaru just smiled.
“I know what you’re thinking.”
“Do you? What am I thinking then?”
Ueda kept looking out of the window, since it was too embarrassing to look at Nakamaru. “You think ‘I told him from the beginning that that guy was worth nothing. He should have listened to me.’”
Nakamaru just gave him a quick glance, with a smile on his lips. “Not really.”
Ueda just snorted silently.
They didn’t speak anymore until they were near Ueda’s flat. Nakamaru stopped the car in front of the apartment building and turned the motor off. “Shall I walk you up?”
Ueda couldn’t resist but smile and shook his head. He fidgeted with one sleeve of his coat. “It’s okay. Thank you.” He paused, then he raised his head and looked directly at Nakamaru. “Thanks for getting me from there.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”, Nakamaru just said and smiled in his calming way that made Ueda’s heart beat a little faster.
“I don’t really care if they knew… The only one I didn’t want to know was you.”
Nakamaru seemed slightly puzzled. “Me?”
“I don’t want you to think badly of me. And you always know that they are not the right ones and that it won’t work out with them and---“
In the next moment he found himself pressed against the older man, caught in his embrace.
“I know that because they are not me.”, Nakamaru murmured and pulled Ueda a little closer.
Ueda felt himself blushing. “Yuichi… what…?”
Nakamaru pulled back a little to look at the smaller man and managed a smile. “I know they’re not good enough and won’t be able to handle you right because I am the only one who knows.”
Ueda blinked and just stared at Nakamaru’s face, then his expression became gentle and he smiled a bit, before he closed his arms around the taller man’s neck and nuzzled against him. “Really?”
“I’m absolutely sure.”
It remained silent again, while Nakamaru pulled his arms around Ueda. He buried his nose in the soft strands of hair and breathed the fresh scent in.
“You know…” Ueda said silently without moving away a bit. “…. I think you could be right.”
Nakamaru’s heartbeat stopped for a second, but then he tightened his arms around Ueda’s waist.
“On your next date no one’s going to try to kiss you without you wanting to. And no one’s going to force you to do thing’s you don’t like to do, or make you upset with not knowing to appreciate how much time you spent to dress up. And certainly no one is going to leave you behind in the middle of nowhere.” Nakamaru could feel the slight smile of Ueda’s against his neck. “Promise, Tat-chan.”
