I used to play around a lot with Jasc Animation Shop when I was like a Freshmen in high school. I don't know why I stopped but I spend so many countless hours on my computer that there's no reason why I shouldn't be an ANIMATION MASTAH.

ahhh i'm looking at colleges too and also want to go for illustration!
my top choice right now is mass art, which is nice because living in massachusetts gives me a huuge break on tuition.
im also looking at smfa, sva, risd, montserrat, mica and cornish for schools that are "art" schools. i'm not sure if all of those have an actual illustration department, i know mass art and sva do and that cornish and smfa do not, but those are some things to look at over here on the east coast if you're interested! also schools like northeastern and umass amherst have art majors.
i also use fastweb.com to help look for scholarships i might eligible for and colleges with an fine arts or illustration major. good luck! :]

Wow, thank you for that list of schools! Yeah I've actually checked out Mass Art's site before. And their tuition's incredibly reasonable for in-state students. I'm happy you were able to find an affordable art school and that one actually exists, really.

Ditto! How is your portfolio looking? I just need to add some boring observational work.

yeah, too bad mass art is pretty hard to get into DD: we'll see!

portfolio's looking pretty good, but i'm not applying until next fall, so i'm not too worried
i mostly have all my boring stuff, its trying to think of and make all the crazy cool things that are my own that are actually finished enough to put into my portfolio that's the hard part.

and def about the snail mail, i've got an idea of what to send for the first thing :]

It comes with Paintshop pro, I believe. But it can be free to download depending on your sources...
