Death

To be honest I don't think I'm as hung up about it as most people, or as popular media would have you believe about most people. I don't know if it's the Buddhism or the fact that the first time I experienced death closely I was already into my 20's, either way I tend to view it in a more compassionate way that a traumatic one ( Read more... )

It was wednesday afternoon. I've asked to be informed if a local memorial would be held, so i'll be sure to pass along the information.

i did my master's in women's studies thesis at in focus, and knew laurel for years. i am in shock. i called in focus too and they took my name. do you know any other details?

All I know is that she was driving on the highway home from work, an SUV going in the other direction decided the vehicle in front of it was too slow, went to pass and hit laurel - killing her instantly. That is the last I heard.

I think I may have met you briefly once - I know I definately heard about you.

A loss is always hard to deal with. And it just reminds of of this gift that is given to us all and how we should appreciate it. It's times like this that remind us what a wonderful thing life is and how we are fortunate to have many remarkable people with the same gift share a bit, or a lot, of our path. I'm sorry to hear of this sad news, Danielle. Take care.

I can't even fathom the sense of loss that you (and Andrea and anyone else who knew this beautiful woman) are experiencing. She was obviously an influential and very special person to have friends who love her so much. *big hugs*
