I've been trolling job sites all morning and am going to apply at Whole Foods and Terra Breads. I also put in a call to a good friend who's been a postie for a long time to see if she can get me some hiring info. I'm even considering Coast Mountain ( Read more... )

How's your sewing skills? Hours are extremely flexible - you can work whenever you want, however I'm not sure about the job security and high wages part :(

can't sew to save my life. I vaguely recall my mom trying to teach me to thread a machine as I looked on in utter perlexity.
I envy you clothiers!

while the hours at coast mountain suck ass (welcome to shift work -- there were a few periods when I was growing up that I rarely saw my mother... and even longer periods when she was working herself into an early grave so that she could be there for me during the day, by working nights while I was asleep) there's a reasonable amount of flexibility and the pay is pretty good. Welcome to a union job -- there is *no* way they'd be able to say a word about you for taking time off to be with a sick kid. :)

And, driving the community shuttles starts at $18/h. The buses at $22/h. Can't argue with that type of pay... :)

Hi- try the UBC and SFU temp pools. I think the UBC one is called "Staff Finders". My sister got laid off, and now gets a lot of work through that. I'm not so sure about how benefits work, but I know you are entitled to some after a certain amount of time. Hope that helps.

I really hate this post.

Will you just go to bed, get some sleep and quit trying to do everything? Then lets talk so you don’t have to talk to me via LJ posts.

I don't want to live a separate life. This is not the kind of family I want, where we makes dates to see each other for a couple hours on the weekends.

I spend more time with you than any other soul

When one of us are sick because the other is carrying on with life and working and picking up some slack while the sick one SHOULD be in bed and getting better. I spent more time with you this week than most - just being with you - not sexual - not play time - just cuddling. I care about you.

Paul works until late and gets up after we do, when do I see him? How do I take my kid to daycare?I work late because I spent the day with you! That’s when you see me *Smacks forehead ( ... )
