my experience with WW is 100% great. No complaints whatsoever, even the $14 a week charge for going to meetings. For me it was worth the money to learn healthy eating habits, get support from other people, ect... and I think right now there's free sign up.

anyway, it's not for everyone that's for sure, but believe me, from one emotional eater to another, it is possible to lose weight and not feel like you are depriving yourself, because you really don't have to.

you can totally call me tonight after 9, or Friday? or really, even at work would be ok depending on where my boss is in the office.

btw, gotta get those boots back from you too. Another shoot is on the horizon.

My Grandpa had huge success with an organization called TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). They are a lot like weight watchers (meetings, and weigh ins and the like) except that they are non-profit. They don't have food that they require you to buy. They are all about being in a supportive environment, setting realistic goals and sharing tips (including recipes for yummy healthy food etc) and successes. I grew up around people who belonged to the organization and I think it is great. I don't know much about any of the Vancouver chapters, but I am certain that is a way cheaper way to go than many of the for profit weight loss groups.

Also if you are into going for bike rides at all I would be into having someone to ride with. (I find it way easier to exercise when I have someone to go with).

Last year I took my AFLCA (alberta fitness and leadership certification) and have been excersising about 90% of my lifetime. I have done it all, from weight training to yoga, to now snowboarding. I have also dealt with injury (my torn medial meniscus/broken knee cap etc) and have some experience rehabing. IF you need or want any advice at all, I am willing to give it to you and help you along the way. As for food, it all depends on the result you want and how commited you are ( ... )

You and me both. I know I need outside motivators to get going on losing weight but I also feel "wrong" about groups that say they're there to support you as long as you pay their fees and buy their products. What a quandry.
