I had an interesting surprise this morning. After being roused by our cat clawing at the window screen, I stretched and yawned, then noticed red stains on my left hand. Closer examination showed what was obviously dried blood, the largest smears of it on my thumb and index finger. My thumb in particular was almost completely covered in old blood.
